Photos from the Legg Mason Tennis Classic
I wrote about the fun day I spent at the William H. Fitzgerald Tennis Center here in DC yesterday, watching the Legg Mason Tennis Classic courtesy of Olympus, and promised I’d publish photos taken at the matches with the new E-510.
After I deleted the blatantly bad ones, I was left with 607 photos. I spent a couple of hours sorting through them, and picked 44, which I then processed. There are a few nice blooper-type photos from the tournament as well, where the players are making funny faces or their bodies are in contorted positions, so those will be kind of fun to see.

You got some good shots with that camera. But I am unsurprised, considering the combination of the gear and the guy behind it.

Thanks Julie! It was my first time shooting a sports event of any kind, so I was glad when I got home and saw that I had some good ones in the bunch.

Some terrific shots in the Zooomr set, Raoul! However, as Julie points out, this should come as no surprise.
I’ll be looking forward to your review of the E-510 itself. It’s comparable to the Canon EOS 400D (Rebel XTi) and Nikon D80 in size, price and (most) technical specifications, and I’ve been keeping on top of reviews for the past few months.
I don’t shoot Nikon, and have no plans to give up on Canon, but I do try to keep an eye out for any able competition that the DSLR market throws in their respective directions.

Keith, size-wize, the E-510 is similar to the Reber XTi and the Nikon D40. I find the E-510’s grip to be much better than that of the Rebel. It just feels better in the hand. It also uses real rubber inlays, unlike the Rebel. More on this in the review.
