Horse backs hurt by riders, saddles

I love horse riding. Granted, I don’t do it very often, but I find this article interesting. How many years have we been riding horses? Probably for more than 4,000 years, yet only now we’re starting to see problems with the saddle and riding techniques?
I wonder which saddles are the most problematic? Here is the link.
