Macromedia and Adobe updaters are buggy

Today I discovered that my Extension Manager doesn’t recognize that I’ve got Dreamweaver MX installed (even though I’ve got the entire Studio MX 2004). So, I took a deep breath and downloaded an update for Dreamweaver, and one for the Extension Manager.
Here I am now, after having run the Dreamweaver updater. It’s been a half hour, and the updater still isn’t done. I’ve got a late-model PowerBook G4 with really good hardware specs. It’s not a question of capability. It’s a question of pathetic software. I wonder if the updater will ever get finished, so I can try updating the EM. It’s probably just wishful thinking.
Oh, and Adobe? My Photoshop 7.0 attempts to download these silly “ghost” files from the Adobe site every time I start it up, and unless I cancel the process, it’ll hang there forever. I call them ghost files because they obviously don’t exist, or else they’d have been downloaded by now.
I have to wonder what’ll happen with the updaters now that Macromedia and Adobe have joined forces. Ugh!

[...] I fixed it very simply both times: I did a hard reboot. After the computer booted up completely and the hard disk activity LED stopped blinking, I re-started the Adobe Updater, and ran the update job again. That seemed to fix it. Well, “fix” may be a relative word here. It still took another 20 minutes to go through the update, and in the end, I got an error message telling me GoLive couldn’t be fully patched up… Pathetic, but at least I got through the dull thing. This isn’t the first time I had problems with the Adobe Updater. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting fed up with the constant problems. At the price we’re paying for this software, I expect better, more stable code. Instead, the software only gets more bloated with every release, and harder to install. Do you know how long it takes to install CS2, and I’m not even counting the time it takes to update it? Half an hour! That’s ridiculous. This isn’t an operating system. Hi, i have the same problem and doesn´t work turn off the computer, i hate adobe for buy macromedia!!! grrrrrr!
You have the solution?? i have installed again the manager but nothing change only recognize that i have dreamweaver but i have too installed Flash mx 2004 and 8 and fireworks mx 2004 GRRRR i hate them!!!
